Introduction to Mindful Improv Thinking: 90 minutes This training is an excellent place to begin work together as it teaches the foundations of the Mindful Improv Thinking framework and provides a shared language useful for coaching and elaborated upon on other trainings. Participants will leave with clear action items for any current, lingering or future situations of boundary setting, self advocacy or navigating disagreement. The Gift of Brave Conversations: Two 90-minute sessions This training is focused on the logistics of giving and receiving difficult feedback. Learn how to say hard things so that they're receivable, and how to respond when you're on the receiving end without falling into a shame hole. This training provides best practices for navigating and recovering from these vulnerable moments so that they promote growth and build trust instead of setting the stage for defensiveness, avoidance and strained collaboration.* Just a Joke: 2 hours Have you ever noticed how humor can be used as a defense for harassment? This training got it's name after Andrea experienced and confronted a situation of workplace harassment in her own career and was told "Oh come on! It's just the easiest, most obvious joke!" At CMIT, we are people who deeply value physically and psychologically safe places of work AND the role comedy and laughter play in the human experience. As such, we've built a training to forever quash the "it was just a joke" defense. In addition to providing all necessary legal definitions, and conditions for harassment and sexual harassment education, your staff will learn:
All of our trainings are written from a gift-orientation perspective that makes the content relevant, relatable and genuinely helpful. This training is no exception, and despite the heavy, uncomfortable subject matter this training has received excellent staff reviews from every team that has taken it. Some even calling it enjoyable! * Class includes a 15-minute video/audio file with a recap of The Core Five. This serves either as a high-level introduction of these central pieces of the framework if your team hasn't completed Intro to Mindful Improv Thinking, or as a helpful review if they have. Repetition never hurts!

Laws of eMOTION: 90 minutes This training explores Newton's Laws of Motion and how they pertain to managing human emotional momentum in difficult conversations. Participants will learn to:
Breath & Imagination: 90 Minutes This workshop is the embodiment of psychological safety, and it teaches participants how to create that for themselves as they prepare for or recover from a difficult conversation or intimidating situation (EG: public speaking, leading a webinar, asking for a raise, etc.) This workshop guides your participants through a series of breathing exercises and improv games designed to help them reconnect with their breath and their imagination. Two things that help us immensely as we navigate challenges and choose to face them head on.* Encouraging Change: Three 90-minute sessions, or 1 full-day This training is most ideal for HR staff, DEIA staff or anyone in a culture-focused role. If it's their job to facilitate internal trainings and discussions, this training will be of immense benefit. Participants will learn evidence-based methods rooted in Motivational Interviewing and the Trans-Theoretical Model (Stages of Change) for handling resistance and pushback as you lead change-oriented trainings and discussions. Participants will learn:
Ultimately, this training equips participants to help people find their own internal motivation toward culture-benefitting changes when they run into disagreement, push back or ambivalence.* |

BRAVE COMMUNICATION
|
The Mindful Improv Thinking framework creates results when it moves from intention to execution. In other words: when your people actually start using these methods in uncomfortable, frustrating or hurtful situations. It's easiest to do this with a little support and accountability, which is exactly what our coaches provide. This coaching program is unlike any other. Here's how:
We've developed our coaching program to feel like a gift and a helpful resource, not a punishment or corrective measure. While we don't allow you to make the coaching program a required part of a corrective plan, we do have a remediation track for team members whose communication styles are frequently misalignment with culture values and expectations. It is important that coaching program remain an opt-in resource for professional development, employee wellbeing and culture strength. |
